我最喜欢看的一篇是《真假猴王搅乾坤》。该篇讲了一只神通广大，变化多端，腾云驾雾的六耳猕猴。他趁着唐僧因为孙悟空打死强盗把孙悟空赶走的机会，变成孙悟空的模样，差点把唐僧打死。还霸占了花果山，找了几个猴精变成假唐僧，假猪八戒，假沙僧，和假白龙马。孙悟空与他交战，难以取胜。打到南海，观音菩萨也分辨不出真假。打到天宫所有的神仙都难辨真假。真假悟空打到西天后，如来佛慧眼一睁，六耳猕猴本相现出，急忙变成小蜜蜂飞走，如来佛抛出金钵盂，扣住蜜蜂，六耳猕猴现出原形，被孙悟空打死。

但，刘高兴只是一个在西安城里拾破烂的。你要是以为他是一个穿着邋遢，浑身酸臭味的普通拾破烂的，你就错了。他是另类，他爱整洁，虽然他的房屋外表破烂，但收拾的却一丝不苟；他很讲究，经常要洗澡，拾破烂时也着西装穿皮鞋；他还有思想有文化，爱读书看报，了解发生的大事；他还有特长，吹箫声常常引起围观。
但，多才多艺的他终究还是个拾破烂的，一直渴望融入城市，却终生活在边缘的乡村人。
文中刘高兴是出彩的，他深爱着美丽的妓女孟夷纯，有过一段纯洁的爱情，就像锁骨菩萨塔，即便是妓女又怎样，但那颗纯洁的灵魂却是独一无二的。城市大老板韦达也喜欢孟夷纯，但在孟夷纯入狱后却视而不见，只因她就是个妓女。相比之下，刘高兴的真心与坚守越显得宝贵。
而现实中更多的是五富、黄八、杏胡夫妇这样的拾破烂者。忙于生计，精打细算，掰着手指头过日子，生活贫贱，精神也贫贱的底层人民。他们受尽欺负，吃亏上当，缺乏变通，讨债不成时只能通过自残的形式来讨到应得到。但仍然希翼着在城市立足，期待着美好。
