However, it needs our deeper thinking, a much deeper thinking. In fact, Sewell doesnt only focus on showing Black Beautys great characteristics. By telling Black Beautys whole life story, she aimed at revealing the hard life of animals at that time and altering us the crime of those who abuse animals.
From Beautys suffering during his whole life time, we can see the tragic life of animals at that time. Some people ran after the so-called fashion blindly. In order to satisfy their own vanity，they ignored animals great pain. For example, Sir Olivers shortened tail. What the so-called fashion gave animals is great pain rather than a beautiful appearance. Some people knew nothing about how to keep animals, and were always making them work all day long. 确实是一本薄薄的小书。字印刷虽然大，有注解和翻译，但总共也就220页。在这个信息爆炸的时代，想想这么一本小书。如果放在浩如烟海的作品里，厚如馒头，重如砖头，印刷精美如绣花枕头。真的是很卑微。为什么可以想象这么薄的一本书统治了中国近20个世纪，彻底改变了中国的历史？
从论辩的角度来看，孔子肯定是输了，他是服气的。但是如果从生活的角度来看。孔子是赢家，也是大赢家。这是历史证明的，不是我证明的。也许，真理不是争论的，而是制造的。
我不知道孔子为什么会赢，为什么不能论证这个道理。他天赋太差，脑子太蠢。但我知道孔子说了什么，他说的是做人的道理，生活的道理，生存的哲学！如果你是人，你生活在一个群体里，无论你做什么：你去革命，你去当领导，你去开公司，或者你去当土匪、强盗、恶霸。如果你想变得更强更大，你必须相信孔子所说的。从这个角度来说，孔子的真理就是永恒的真理！
